Vacation Bible School

Believe it or not we are already planning for this coming summer's Vacation Bible School. Our theme will be SonHarvest Country Fair and it will be held July 28 – August 1, 2008.

In SonHarvest County, children will discover how to grow the fruit of the Spirit. Specifically, children will learn to Grow Love, Sprout Joy, Plant Peace, Produce Patience and Pick Kindness. We will be having a great time with lively songs, skits, crafts, games, Bible stories and snacks – all of the things that make Vacation Bible School so much fun for children. On top of that, we will be helping children grow the fruit of God's Spirit.

Classes for children age 3 (by July 1) through entering 5 th grade will be held Monday to Friday from 9 – 12 noon, and parents are invited to join in on Thursday at 7PM for our presentation/awards night.

Registration forms are available from the church office, or click here to download a pdf form.

Sincerely,

Irene Ingemi and Jette Meglan

General Information

Sunday School. Sunday Mornings from 10-11am .... We have classes ranging from infant through Junior High ages. Children typically gather in the Sanctuary for the first part of service and, after a 'sermon for all ages', go off to their individual classrooms for Sunday School instruction and crafts. for more specific information about our programs, please contact the main office of our church.

Children's Sunday. What's fun, involves everyone from 2-82, uses lots of costumes and props, requires and attitude of spontaneity and joy, and is guaranteed to add a new dimension to your understanding of the Bible? Held on the first Sunday in June, this is the worship service where anything goes (and often does) as children share what they've learned in Sunday School during the past year. The past 3 years have included such memorable themes as:

  • "A time for everything"
  • "Jonah and the Big Fish"
  • "Moses leads the slaves out of Egypt "

Come join us for worship the first Sunday in June - Who knows what fantastic experience will be in store for YOU!

Christmas Pageant. No one ever gets tired of the Christmas pageant. It is always the same and yet it is always different (who knows which little angel will decide to scratch and yawn or which little sheep will decide it is too tired and lay down for a nap in the aisle. Each year brings it's own uniqueness.) On the most magical and mysterious night of the year, children and adults gather to share in the miracle of God's birth once more. The words of scripture come to life as children and adults take on the roles of sheep and shepherds, angels and animals, kings and "royal family". We sing those wonderful hymns that mean "Christmas" to so many, hymns like "We three Kings", "Silent Night" and "Joy to the World". Candles music children, the Bible Story re-told and re-enacted again and again. This special service reminds us of the true meaning of Christmas and sets the right mood for over celebration. Come join us on Christmas eve at 7:30pm.

Praise Bunch. This choir includes children in grades K-2 and meets Sunday morning's after Sunday School till 12 noon . They prepare an anthem to sing at worship service once a month. They also participate in Christmas music service.

Childrens Choir. Children and Teens in grades 3-6 comprise our new youth choir of 11 singers. This choir sings with the Children's Choir and also in special combined anthems with the Chancel (adult) Choir. This year the childrens choir is also learning to ring Handbells.
